Lawmakers declare Saturday as PTSI Awareness Day

(WLNS) – Later today, the state House and Senate will declare this Saturday Post Traumatic Stress-Injury Awareness Day.

Lawmakers are hosting a ceremony at the capitol this morning.

The goal is to raise awareness of the many veterans and current military service members suffering from  PTSD.

The disorder affects more than five million Americans each year and is commonly associated with war veterans.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
