    • Other places she’s lived: All over mid-Michigan, as well as Toledo, Ohio and Paris, France
    • Graduated from: Alma College
    • Joined WLNS: September 1985
    • Previous experience: Began her 36-year broadcasting career in radio before moving into television news, which has taken her to four stations
    • Awards: Ben East Award for Conservation Journalism, Governor’s commendation and several awards for work on encouraging recycling in Michigan
    • Most interesting assignment: Being personally requested by the White House to host a town hall meeting with President Bill Clinton on the issue of Medicare
    • Has a knack for: Making people feel comfortable and safe to share their personal stories
    • Passionate about: The environment, disability rights, empowering people and spirituality
    • Can’t stop talking about: How great it is to live and work in mid-Michigan.
    • When she’s not anchoring, she’s: Gardening, reading, biking, going to the movies and spending time with loved ones
    • Other places you may see her: Farmer’s markets, bike paths, uplifting lectures, antique stores and ice cream shops
    • Favorite place in mid-Michigan: Her backyard, where she can watch birds, garden and watch the sunset with a glass of wine while listening to the tree frogs chirp
    • What she loves most about mid-Michigan: The people, who are dedicated, diverse, caring and support and celebrate each other.
    • Three lesser-known facts about her: She can call tree frogs who then trill back to her; she can do a pretty good Julia Child imitation; she gives a keynote speech several times a year to all kinds of groups from around Michigan about how to stay happy, no matter what’s going on.
