Lansing hotel fire deemed suspicious

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)— Authorities say a fire at a south side hotel is suspicious.

Around 8 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters were called to the Magnuson Lansing Hotel on South Cedar Street for reports of a fire on the seventh floor.

That floor was supposed to be vacant.

Investigators tell 6 News that firefighters were able to contain the flames to the room where the fire started.

However, the entire hotel needed to be evacuated.

No one was hurt and guests were allowed back into their rooms soon after.

The fire remains under investigation.
