Lansing chef challenge offers food to the homeless

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Is there anything better than hearing a professional chef say “bon appetite?”

Well, some of Michigan’s homeless will be hearing that tonight. At 7 this evening three chefs from Lansing area restaurants will be taking part in a competition to see who can create the best entrée and dessert by using ingredients only found at the Lansing Community Kitchen.

The community kitchen serves 130,000 meals a year to the homeless in the greater Lansing area.

The best part is that the winning entrée and dessert will be replicated and served to hundreds of homeless at dinner tomorrow.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
