Ingham County unveils peace pole in honor of World Refugee Awareness Week

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – In a couple says World Refugee Awareness Week will end so you do not want to miss this afternoon’s event.

The Ingham County Department of Health and Human Services as well as St. Vincent Catholic Charities will unveil a peace pole at 2 this afternoon in front of the departments building

The peace pole will represent a message of thanks to the refugees and immigrants for making contributions to Ingham County.

The pole will display the words: “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in 12 different languages.

It will be the fourth peace pole installed in the country.
