Grand opening for new pedestrian bridge in Okemos

OKEMOS, MI (WLNS) – There is a grand opening today in Okemos for a new pedestrian bridge.

It is right off Okemos Road near Wonch Park over the Red Cedar River.

A couple cool facts about the steel bridge was that it was built about a month ago in New York and was brought to Okemos is four separate parts.

This past weekend it was completed after a concrete deck was poured on top of the steel.

The ribbon cutting will take place at 11 this morning.
