Police ID stabbing homicide victim

UPDATE: Police have identified the 38-year-old homicide victim as Phineas Prentice-Worth Oliver of Lansing.

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Investigators are still trying to piece together what lead to a deadly stabbing Friday morning.

It happened around 2 a.m. Friday in the 1700 block of South Washington Avenue.

Officials say the suspect and the victim knew each other.

Lansing Police officials are confident they’ve found their killer.

The 43-year old suspect is behind bars and is accused of stabbing a 38-year old man.

When officers arrived on scene, they say they found the victim in the street.

He was taken to the hospital, and pronounced dead.

During their investigation police say they tracked the 43-year old suspect to an apartment nearby and arrested him.

Right now they’re looking for a motive.
