Boy accused of pretending to be FBI to face Michigan charges

YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, MI (AP) – A 17-year-old boy who authorities say pretended to be an FBI agent will soon be returned to Michigan from Ohio to face charges.

Juvenile charges against the boy of furnishing false information and receiving stolen property were dismissed Thursday in juvenile court in Lucas County, Ohio. Prosecutors say the case will best be dealt with in Michigan, where he’ll face charges as an adult.

Authorities say the boy in May called the Cueter Chrysler dealership in Ypsilanti Township, Michigan, and asked to test drive a Dodge Charger. They say he told dealership employees he was an FBI agent and was carrying what appeared to be a firearm that turned out to be an Airsoft air gun.

Authorities say he drove the car to the Toledo area and crashed.
