'The Big Dog" Jamie McKibbin wrapped up his final show on June 3, 2015.

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS)—After 18 years on air, a Jackson radio icon is moving from the mic to the office.

“The Big Dog” Jamie McKibbin has become a staple of morning radio in mid-Michigan. Now, he’s taking on an even bigger role as the general manager of WKHM, which broadcasts from Jackson and Brooklyn.

Wednesday, his wife and other friends joined him for his final day on air.

“It’s just kind of weird; today is weird to think that I’m not going to be on the air anymore,” said McKibbin. “But I’m just a couple offices down—I’ve got the corner office now, I’ve got a promotion to be the general manager now and I’m pretty excited about that too. And [to] just do great local radio… that’s what I’m excited to do here in Jackson.”
