JACKSON, MI (WLNS) – Police have identified the 76-year-old woman who was found dead Thursday in Blackman Township.
The woman is Maxine Friend, according to our media partners at MLive who say Blackman-Leoni public safety director Mike Jester confirmed her identity.
Friend’s body was found around 9 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Seminole, near East Jackson Memorial School.
On Tuesday night a suspect was arrested in Friend’s death, who officials said was a relative. Now officials are saying the 47-year-old man arrested is Friend’s nephew. The man is also a suspect in a strong-arm robbery that happened at a Meijer store on Monday night.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
