Lark reacts to severance agreement

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – The BWL board of directors reached a severance agreement with former general manager Peter Lark Tuesday.

The board will pay Lark $650,000 in severance.

The board fired Lark in January.

Lark faced scrutiny for his performance during the 2013 ice storm, a disaster which left thousands of people in the dark for days.

On Wednesday Lark issued a statement saying it had been an honor to work for the utility.

“Together we have experienced the best and worst of BWL’s history. I have had a wonderful opportunity to work with outstanding people on exciting projects,” said Peter Lark, former BWL general manager.

Lark added, he wouldn’t trade a minute of it.
