Lansing man wounded in early-morning shooting

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Lansing Police are investigating a shooting that took place early this morning that sent one man to a local hospital.

According to police a 27-year-old Lansing man is recovering from two gunshot wounds, neither of which are life-threatening. Officers were called to the hospital when the victim showed up at the emergency room with gunshot wounds just before 4:00 a.m. today.

The victim told officers the shooting had taken place on the 600 block of Allen Street and he knew who shot him. Police went to the address but the alleged gunman was not there. The firearm used in the shooting was found.

Police tell 6 News that they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the general public. They do add that anyone having information regarding this case should contact the Lansing Police Department at (517) 483-4600 or Crime Stoppers at (517) 483-7867.
