Lansing man in court; accused of stealing money from youth sports league

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – A Lansing man accused of embezzling money from a kids’ sports league was in an Ingham County court today.

54-year-old John Ayers told a judge this morning that he would waive his preliminary hearing. Ayers faces three felony charges of embezzlement, larceny and uttering and publishing.

Officials say he stole more than $50,000 during this time as the director mid-Michigan’s “Tri-County Youth Sports League”.

No date was given for his next court date.
