Discussion continues over BWL budget

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – The battle over the budget and the Lansing Board of Water and Light continues today in the capitol city.

This evening Lansing City Council members will discuss Mayor Virg Bernero’s veto he filed for a portion of the budget dealing with the BWL.

Bernero wants to create a new inspector general position and the city council is against it. Members voted against the idea last week and instead would like to use the money to pay for an audit for utility.

Bernero has since vetoed that decision.

Stay with 6, we will have more from the city council meeting tonight both on air and online.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
