UPDATE: Three injured in Liberty Township house fire

UPDATE 2:00 p.m. – One firefighter was taken to a local hospital and treated for a shoulder injury received while putting out the fire. Two people who were living in the house were also taken to a local hospital. 6 News Jackson bureau reporter Genna Hilgenbrink was told their injuries were also believed to be minor. The Red Cross has arrived at the fire scene. The house was a rental and the occupants did not have rental insurance. Damage to the building is reported to be extensive.

DEVELOPING: JACKSON CO. (WLNS) – Crews from at least four fire departments are on the scene of a house fire in Jackson County.

Firefighters from Liberty Township, Spring Arbor, Pulaski and Summit Fire responded to the 4400 block of Springbrook Road in Liberty Township shortly after noon today.

An ambulance is standing by but it is not known if there are any injuries or what might have caused the fire. Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies are also on scene.

6 News has a crew there and will have updates online and on 6 News at 6 tonight.
