LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – The Lansing Board of Water and Light commissioners have scheduled a special meeting Tuesday to discuss the J. Peter Lark separation agreement.
The meeting will be held behind closed doors at the REO Town headquarters at 6:00 p.m. The session is closed to the public because it is a personnel issue.
Lark was fired in January during a special meeting. The board voted 5-3 to let go of Lark. At that same meeting Richard Peffley was voted in as interim general manager. Peffley is the executive director of operations and before that he was the executive director of the BWL’s water operations. Peffley is still in place as the interim general manager.
Since Lark’s firing there have been talks of dissolving the BWL board and replacing it with an advisory board. Lansing mayor Virg Bernero is supporting a plan to have an inspector general to oversee BWL operations but draws the line at paying for it our of Lansing’s budget.
