UPDATE: Gov. Rick Snyder has rung the bell to open the trading day on the New York Stock Exchange.
LANSING, Mich. (AP) – Gov. Rick Snyder is scheduled to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
He is in New York Friday capping a two-day trip to promote Michigan and tell of its economic comeback. After ringing the bell, he plans to view trading activity for Michigan-based companies listed on the exchange.
Snyder met Thursday with site selectors who help companies choose where to locate and hosted a reception at a Detroit watch company Shinola’s flagship store in New York City.
The Republican governor has announced he will not run for president in 2016 but will continue traveling nationally to tout the state. His top priority at home is finding a Plan B to fix roads after voters defeated a sales tax hike this week.
