SEVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) – Police say an 8-year-old boy survived an attack by four dogs in mid-Michigan that left him with 22 bite wounds after a nearby worker pulled him to safety.
State police say Ethan Nokes of Riverdale was attacked by the Rottweilers on Monday evening in the fenced yard of a relative in Gratiot County’s Seville Township. Police say the boy was familiar with the dogs.
Police say Kenneth Hansen was working nearby at a construction site and heard the child’s screams. He jumped the fence and carried the boy into the house as the dogs tried to pull him from his grasp. Police say the dogs pursued them into the house.
Police say the boy was treated and released at a hospital. Hansen wasn’t injured. Animal control was holding the dogs.
