JACKSON, MI (WLNS)– A century-old landmark restaurant has served its last Coney dog, at least for now.

Our media partners at MLive report the Jackson Coney Island shut down on Wednesday, May 6. A cardboard sign taped to the door says the restaurant is closed until further notice.

Jackson Coney Island’s founder, George Todoroff, claims to have invented the Coney dog when he opened the restaurant in 1914.
