(WLNS) – One man who spends a lot of time in the White House was in Michigan on Sunday.
Vice President Joe Biden spent the evening speaking to the Detroit branch of the NAACP. The group was celebrating the 60th annual Fight for Freedom Fund dinner at the COBO Center. It draws about 10,000 people each year.
Biden focused much of his speech on the need to rebuild trust between police and African American communities in cities across the county. Vice President Biden also congratulated Detroit’s Mayor Mike Duggan for bringing the city back from bankruptcy.
