39-year-old Mat Straub was found dead in his home on Fenton Street Thursday.
“He was a great dad and whoever did this to my baby they stole my joy.” It’s been just two days since Sharika Straub found her home wrapped in crime scene tape, with the news her husband had been murdered.
“It all happened and I was just numb– just numb,” said Straub.
Tonight she says she is holding onto every memory—wearing his wedding ring on her thumb.
”It gives me a little bit of comfort knowing I have something of him,” said Straub.
39-year-old Mat Straub was a stay at home dad— raising four boys under the age of twelve.
“He loved his family he loved to do things with his children,” said his mother, Barbara Holliman.
“Oh my gosh, he was a great father his life was pretty much devoted to his children,” said Straub.
Police have been tight-lipped about exactly how Straub died– but have ruled his death a homicide.
But with no arrests— his family is asking for help to find the person who killed him.
“Anybody that knows something to come up and speak,” said Straub.
And until they find Straub’s killer— for them– closure is impossible.
“I pray to God that justice is served. I don’t want any vengeance. I want justice I want the police to find them,” said Holliman.
Police do say they do not believe Straub’s death was a random attack.
Still– family members are asking anyone with information to step forward
