Police ID Man Who Died In Three-Car Crash

UPDATE 10:45 a.m. – The Eaton County Sheriff’s Office has identified the driver who died in a head-on crash Thursday night. 22-year-old Montel Smith of Lansing died of the injuries he received in the accident on Hartel Road north of St. Joseph Highway. Also injured in the three-car crash was 62-year-old Larry Taylor of Charlotte. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the third car, 27-year-old Lewis Bristol of Grand Ledge was treated on the scene for minor injuries.

The crash is still being investigated.

EATON COUNTY, MI (WLNS) – This morning police in Eaton County are expected to release the name of the man killed in a head-on crash Thursday evening.

According to officials at the Eaton County Sheriff’s office, a truck going north on Hartel Road in Grand Ledge crashed in to a car driving south. The pickup rolled and ended up in the middle of the road while the car went off into the ditch.

Sheriff Deputies say the driver of the car was taken to the hospital and later died.

The person driving the truck was also taken to a local hospital and is expected to live.
