MSU Graphic Design Professor Retires

EAST LANSING, MI (WLNS) – The Broad Art Museum hosted a celebration for retiring graphic design professor Joe Kuszai.

He joined the faculty in 1965 and headed the graphic design program for more than 25 years.

His proposal to Apple in 1984 led to the first Mac lab in a major university. Those in attendance said he’s had a big impact on the university.

“We’ve got alumni coming in from all across the country. Students that were his 50 years ago and students that are in the program right now. I think that says a lot about his teaching, his mentorship, his caring. He’s impacted a lot of lives,” said Chris Corneal, chair, Department of Art, Art History and Design, Michigan State University.

6 News wishes Kuszai a long and healthy retirement.
