(WLNS) – A bid to combine the two largest cable operators in the country appears to be over.

According to the New York Times, Comcast is expected to abandon its $45 billion take-over of Time Warner Cable.

There were plenty of fears about what could have happened if the deal was approved.

Opponents said customers would end up paying more for less service.

The two companies are constantly ranked as having the worst customer service.

They are expected to announce the end of the deal later this morning.
