Civil War Weekend Kicks Off At Capitol

(WLNS) – There are lots of things to do in mid-Michigan this weekend, one of them will be starting on the Capitol lawn.

It’s been 150 years since the end of the Civil War and a walking tour of Civil War era memorials will start on the Capitol grounds at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

But that’s just the beginning of the Civil War weekend in Lansing.

A tour of Civil War veteran’s graves starts Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Then on Sunday afternoon there’s a pair of events happening at the state historical museum in downtown Lansing.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
