Some Unhappy With Michigan Budget

(WLNS) – Some democratic lawmakers are not happy about a general budget bill that passed a house committee on Wednesday.

The $37 billion plan sets spending for state departments but house democrats say it is incomplete and does not meet the needs of Michigan families. In particular they say it does not account for medicaid financing and enrollment in the Healthy Michigan Plan.

Lawmakers are trying to finish the budget by early June but that could change if voters approve a sales tax increase on May 5th.
