New Auto Insurance Law Aims To Reduce Insurance Fraud

(WLNS) – The Michigan Senate Insurance Committee approved an auto insurance law that hopes to reduce insurance fraud and the cost of care for people seriously hurt in car accidents.

Supporters say the bill would relieve insurers of liabilities in the states Catastrophic Claims Association while ensuring victims get the care they need. However, opponents say the vote was rushed before the legislation could be reviewed.

A full senate vote could happen today.
