(WLNS) – A Hillsdale County man has been arrested for trying to arrange a sex date with a 14-year-old girl.
According to Hillsdale County Prosecuting Attorney Neal Brady, 32-year-old Charles Adams of Osseo had recently begun exchanging text messages with the girl. Investigators say in his texts Adams was very detailed in his intentions to have sex with the girl. The girl’s parents were able to get the teen’s phone and a Hillsdale County Sheriff’s deputy began texting under the guise of the girl.
The officer set up a meeting time with Adams, who apparently believed he was going to have sex with the girl. When Adams arrived at the meeting place he was arrested by officers of the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department.
Adams is already a registered sex offender. He was convicted in 2007 of attempted third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim 13-to-15 years old. Adams faces charges now of accosting a child for immoral purposes, use of a computer in commission of a crime and gross indecency.
His next court appearance is set for April 22 and he is held on a $75,000 bond.
