(WLNS) – A Canadian man is under arrest after border agents found about 74 pounds of cocaine under the transport truck and trailer he was driving.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police the arrest was made last Saturday at the Blue Water Bridge that spans Port Huron and Sarnia. The 32-year old Quebec man was charged today with importation of cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
The driver was arrested after he was diverted to a secondary inspection lane. When officers looked closely at the undercarriage of the truck they found 31 bricks of cocaine beneath tarps inside a duffle bag.
There is no estimate of the street value of the seized drugs.
