Gas Prices Jump In Lansing; Statewide Prices Hold Steady

(WLNS) – Gas prices jumped in the Lansing area in the past week, despite prices holding steady statewide.

According to gas price monitoring website, the price of a gallon of gas in Lansing went up nearly 11 cents last week to an average of $2.45. That’s still $1.21 less than the price per gallon one year ago.

A survey of gas station statewide by AAA Michigan finds that prices statewide stayed constant last week. The auto club found that the average price per gallon for regular unleaded was $2.41. AAA says the highest prices were in the Jackson area where a gallon of gas was averaging about $2.47.

Nationwide reports that the average price of a gallon of gas fell three cents to $2.39 last week.
