LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Two men will wake up behind bars after a high speed car chase in Lansing turned into a hunt deep in the woods with nearly a dozen police officers.
The original car chase started sometime before 11 last night near the area of Pleasant Grove and Jolly Roads. Lansing police tried to stop a vehicle there after they believed someone inside that vehicle violated their parole. However, police say because of high speeds and public safety concerns, officers called off the chase and let the car go.
Soon after officers spotted the car parked at a home in the area and that is when two people jumped back in the car and it sped off again. Police say they managed to stop them in a parking lot near Jolly and Waverly roads but the chase was not over yet. Police say both people jumped out of the car and took off running into some nearby woods.
Michigan State University Police brought in their K9 to follow them and with help from more than ten police officers from four different law enforcement agencies they were able to track them down.
Lansing police tell us they arrested two men in connection to this incident. One 34-years-old the other 25-years-old. Both will likely face a judge sometime today.
