FREELAND, MI (WLNS) – There is more trouble for prison food contractor Aramark this morning.

According to a new report, an Aramark employee served food to inmates that had been thrown in the trash.

According to our media partners at MLive, it happened last October at the Saginaw Correctional Facility in Freeland which is in Saginaw County.

The reports show an Aramark employee threw some leftover food away but when there was not enough food to serve all of the inmates, that person pulled the food out of the trash, rinsed it and served it again.

Michigan’s Department of Corrections fired that employee soon after.
