UPDATE: Fire Engulfs Barn In Ingham County

UPDATE 11:35am – Fire officials are continuing their investigation of the barn fire this morning. They now tell 6 News that no animals died in the fire. There were earlier concerns that two cats had died in the fire.

UPDATE 8:00am – The fire is now out and the search is on for a cause. According to firefighters two cats died in the fire and equipment inside the building was damaged or destroyed. We’ll have more information on 6 News at Noon and online.

Williamston Barn Fire

UPDATE 6:45am – The fire is apparently contained and nearly extinguished. Crews have been on the scene since just after 5:00 a.m. It is not known at this time what caused the fire. There are no injuries reported at this hour.

DEVELOPING (WLNS) – Fire crews from several departments in Ingham county are on the scene of a barn fire right now. According to reports firefighters were called to the 1000 block of Noble Road south of Williamston just after 5:00 a.m.

Apparently there are no animals inside the pole barn-type structure but there is farm equipment.

There are no reports of injuries at this time.

6 News has a crew on the scene and will have updates online and on 6 News at Noon.
