SANDUSKY, Ohio (WOOD) – Attention adrenaline junkies: Cedar Point is auctioning off the first ride on its soon-to-open floorless roller coaster for charity.
Rougarou, which is being re-purposed from the Mantis – a roller coaster that closed in 2014 – is set to open on May 9, but will offer its first public ride on May 8 for the 64 people who enter the highest bids in an online auction, according to Cedar Point’s website.
Bidding starts at $123 per seat and all proceeds from the auction go to The LeBron James Family Foundation.
The top 64 bidders will also receive a prize pack that includes two one-day admission tickets to the park and a Rougarou first rider medallion and hat, according to the site. Of the 64 top bidders, the top eight will also receive a Nike LeBron James St. Vincent-St. Mary High School jersey.
Bidders have until May 3 at 11:59 p.m. to place bids. For full details on the auction, go to Cedar Point’s website.
