Mother Airlifted After Car Crashes Into Tree

MASON, MI (WLNS) – After a car crashed into a tree in Mason Monday evening, one woman had to be airlifted from the scene.

It happened around 6 p.m. along Ash and Temple in Mason. The area stayed closed for about four and a half hours.

Mason Fire Chief Kerry Minshall says two children and their mother were traveling in a car when it crashed into a tree. All three had to be extricated from the car.

The mother was airlifted from the scene by a U of M helicopter and taken to Sparrow Hospital. An infant and another young child were taken by ambulance to Sparrow Hospital.

Officials did not release the extent of the mother or children’s injuries.
