WATCH: Motorcyclist Leads Police On Wild Chase

(CBS) – A wild pursuit captured live from the streets of Los Angeles. A brazen motorcyclist outran the California Highway Patrol from Pomona, through Laverne, and into Ontario, taunting officers all the way, before finally giving up.
The pursuit flew down one freeway at speeds 100 miles an hour or more. But on the side streets is where it really got crazy. The suspect pulled into a cul-de-sac, removed his helmet, added headphones and then took off again. At one point he was nearly hit by an officer’s car door.
Minutes later the rider did something not normally seen during high-speed chases in southern California. The suspect stood up on the bike at high speeds. He began taunting officers, giving them hand gestures.
He stood on the bike again and again while taunting officers and zipping through traffic.
Finally he pulled into a gas station, got off the bike as the CHP aimed its guns and he was taken into custody without incident.
It’s not known what led to the chase.
