(WLNS) – Same sex couples in Michigan are waiting for a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court on whether they are allowed to get married. However, some state democrats want to put it in law right away.
House and Senate lawmakers will introduce a package of bills that repeals the ban on same sex marriage. It will also add marriage benefits for couples.
Local lawmakers Sam Singh of East Lansing and Curtis Hertel Junior are among the democrats sponsoring the legislation.
