Former Shiawassee Administrator Facing Felony Charges

SHIAWASSEE, MI (WLNS) – A former Shiawassee County administrator is facing felony charges after state police say he used the county credit card for personal purchases.

Tom Clark turned himself in Tuesday on an eight county felony warrant for embezzlement by a public official of over $50.

Michigan State Police say Clark used the county credit card to make $2,000 worth of personal purchases over several months.

The chair of the Shiawassee Board of Commissioners says he called state police investigators back in October after receiving anonymous credit card slips in his mailbox. Ingham County Deputy Chief Assistant Prosecutor john Dewayne is over the case to avoid any conflict of interest with the Shiawassee county prosecutor’s office.
