BWL Warns Of Phone Scam

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – If you get a suspicious call from someone claiming to work for the Lansing Board of Water and Light be careful because it could be a scam.

If someone calls you from either one of these phone numbers: 803-900-8485 or 888-885-1191, hang-up the phone it is a scam.

BWL officials say those numbers are coming from fake employees who will demand a utility payment over the phone or threaten to shut off your service.

Remember you should never give money or personal information over the phone to anyone you do not know.

If you believe you have received a suspicious phone call you are asked to call BWL or your local police.
