U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell Visits Lansing

(WLNS) – U.S Congresswoman Debbie Dingell made a stop in Lansing Wednesday to speak about a few issues concerning women and families in Michigan.

Dingell and several Michigan democrats gathered to talk about some current state and federal legislation.

That includes one bill that would require paid sick leave for all employees.

Dingell says everyone deserves a paid sick day, especially when they need to take care of their family.

“When somebody is sick man or woman and they don’t have any paid sick leave they have to make a decision do they stay home, can they afford to stay home or do they go into work sick,” said state representative Debbie Dingell, (d), Michigan.

Over the next few months state lawmakers also hope to introduce legislation to help families with the cost of child care and to require equal pay.
