LCC Honors Hope Scholarship Recipients

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Thanks to a partnership with Lansing Community College, today hundreds of Lansing middle school students will be given a clear path to higher education.

LCC launched the Hope Scholarship Program with a couple of ideas in mind. If more kids pursue higher education it will produce higher graduation rates, more positive school environments and prepare students for good paying jobs.

Tonight 500 deserving 6th graders will be honored during the LCC Hope Scholarship Ceremony. Each student will receive free tuition to Lansing Community College.

But the scholarship does have a catch; the students must graduate high school. About 90 percent of students who progress through the Hope Scholarship Program will graduate from high school on time.

Officials with LCC plan to welcome in their 14th class of Hope Scholarship recipients tonight at their downtown campus.
