(WLNS) – Meridian Township Police are searching for a suspect after a robbery at the Independent Bank at the intersection of Hamilton Road and Okemos Road Tuesday.

Police are looking for a man who they say handed a note to a teller demanding money. The suspect told the employee he had a gun. Once he got cash, he left the bank on foot and crossed Hamilton Road. Police believe the suspect got into a grey/silver extended cab pickup truck and left the area. Prior to the robbery, police say the suspect was seen on foot across the street from the bank.

It happened around 1:17 p.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of Hamilton Road.

A K-9 unit was called in to track the suspect. The suspect is described as a white man, 25-35 years old, thin build, 130-140 pounds, rough facial hair, wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans, black shoes and an orange hat.
