Baseball-Themed Program Focuses On Exercise, Healthy Eating

DETROIT (AP) – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has kicked off a program that teaches children the importance of exercise and healthy eating while offering the chance to participate in on-field fun at Comerica Park.

The “Train like an All-Star” challenge calls on children ages 5 to 14 to complete four weeks of activities during March.

Week one started Monday. Children must complete 25 jumping jacks. Three servings of fruit or vegetables must be eaten daily during week two. Ten pushups must be completed each day during the third week. Participants are asked to drink five cups of water each day during week four.

Six grand prize winners will be selected for the Blue Cross All-Star Team at Tigers Kids’ Opening Day on April 19.
