No Charges In Hillsdale Shooting Death

(WLNS) – There will be no charges in connection with a shooting death in Ransom Township last month.

Authorities say sheriff’s deputies found James Momenee’s body early February 13th after responding to a domestic violence call at a home on the 10000 block of Tripp Road. According to investigators, 65-year-old Edward Michael shot and killed Momenee with a rifle. The investigation found that Michael was breaking up a fight between Momenee and Angela Momenee, his wife and Michael’s daughter.

The Hillsdale County Prosecutor explained that Michael was acting in defense of his daughter and his actions were justified. The prosecutor added that there was James Momenee had a history of violence and Michael had reason to fear for his daughter’s safety.
