Fallen And Wounded Soldiers Fund To Mark 10th Anniversary

DETROIT (AP) – The Michigan-based Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund is planning its 10th annual anniversary gala and fundraiser in Detroit.

The nonprofit’s keynote speaker is Robert O’Neill, a former Navy SEAL who says he shot and killed Osama bin Laden. O’Neill has given numerous interviews since coming forward to say he was part of the operation that culminated in the death of the AL-Qaida leader.

The event is April 25 at MGM Grand Detroit.

The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund works to assist injured Michigan soldiers and provide support to their families, as well as families of fallen soldiers.

The organization started in 2006 and has raised more than $3 million. Last year, more than $535,000 went to assist Michigan soldiers and families.
