East Lansing Warning Against Rental Mailer

EAST LANSING, MI (WLNS) – If you live in East Lansing, you already have a prime spot for heading out to see Michigan State University’s sports teams during home games.

But, not everyone does.

Some people in East Lansing are getting mailers from a company that claims renting out their homes during busy sports weekends could net them some extra money.

The mailers claim that informational sessions can teach you how to make thousands of dollars by renting out your home.

East Lansing city officials warn that if you don’t have a rental license on file, you could face fines from the city or violate your mortgage.

Officials also warn that having too many people inside a home can end in fines.

It’s something you’ll want to be familiar with, if you plan to rent during sports weekends.

If you have any questions about it, call East Lansing housing officials at 517-319-6801.
