Local Elections Kick Off This Morning

(WLNS) – Hopefully this cold weather does not stop people from heading to the polls today to vote on local millages.

30 counties across the state are holding elections including four right here in mid-Michigan

In Ingham county voters will see a 17.82 millage renewal proposal on the ballot for Dansville schools. If approved it would raise more than $600,000 over the next five years.

In Eaton County the Grand Ledge School District is asking voters to give the green light on a $68 million bond proposal. Part of the money will go to improve the heating system at the middle and high school.

In Shiawassee County, Owosso schools have a bond proposal for repairs and new facilities at the high school.

In Lenawee County the Adrian school district has a similar bond proposal to remodel, refurnish and make additions to Adrian middle school.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 this evening.
