(WLNS) – A recent study claims that the Lansing region will have the highest absolute growth in Michigan by 2030.
The Urban Institute found in the Mapping America’s Futures report that covers 740 so-called “commuter zones” in the US. The report projects that the Lansing region will grow to 540,960 residents by 2030 which is a 16.7% increase or 77,000 people.
“The evidence is becoming more indisputable,” said Bob Trezise, President and CEO of LEAP. “The old Lansing is long gone. The new Lansing region is a fast-emerging global community, and a leading environment for business and talent.”
One note: Mount Pleasant will see growth by over 20% however, this equates to 30,000 people based on current population.
