Cold Weather Aftermath

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Those cold weekend temperatures continue today but hopefully what does not continue is the amount of people filing through Sparrow Hospital with cold weather injuries.

Sparrow ER doctors say they had a busy weekend. When wind chills drop below zero hypothermia and frostbite become the biggest risk for people who are outside.

Sparrow doctors say it is important for staff to get a person’s body temperature up quickly. Doctors say staying inside or dressing in layers is the best way to avoid frostbite.
