City Council Looking To Fill Quinney’s Former Seat

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – There’s lots of interest in Lansing to fill the city council seat left behind by Derrick Quinney.

He took a job as Ingham County Register of Deeds, leaving an at-large seat open.

Lansing City Clerk Chris Swope posted on his Facebook page that 30 people have applied to fill the spot.

Interviews will be conducted on Wednesday.

Under the Lansing city charter, the vacancy needs to be filled within 30 days. Whoever takes the spot will have a less than one year term, ending in January of next year.
